Perry has spent the night in a cage, naked and alone, arms cuffed behind him, when Cole return, drags him back into the dungeon and places him in a pillory. Cole just caressing Perry’s back with a long, weaved “tail” of leather. Perry is terrified, knowing this new whip will be ten times worse than the flogger used on him yesterday. But it’s even worse than that. Perry’s cries of agony are music to Cole’s ears. “Why are you doing this to me?” Perry sputters. “Because I can,” Cole replies.
